Job Title: Inventory and Quality Support Specialist

Reports To: Cost Accountant

Hours/Status: Full Time (40 Hours)

Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.00/hour


JOB SUMMARY 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant to support our Cost Accountant and Quality Assurance program at our bakery. This role will play a key part in supporting our MISys warehouse management system, maintaining accurate production and inventory records, supporting purchasing activities, and ensuring quality compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and capable of working collaboratively across multiple departments.


SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Warehouse Management Support (MISys):

  • Assist the Cost Accountant with daily operations and data management in MISys.

  • Maintain accurate records of raw materials, production batches, and finished goods.

  • Reconcile inventory usage against production reports.

Quality Assurance & Documentation:

  • Maintain and reconcile daily production activity records.

  • Assist in ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.

  • Support document control efforts within the Quality Assurance team.

  • Communicate production updates, quality concerns, and process errors to the Management team in a timely manner.


Inventory & Purchasing Support:

  • Track materials used in production and notify Purchasing of supply needs.

  • Receive incoming deliveries, reconcile them against purchase orders, and complete required documentation for Purchasing.

  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and reconciliation as needed.

  • Assist with coordination of FIFO in raw materials, subassemblies, and finished goods.

Administrative Support:

  • Support supervisors in coordinating vacation schedules, and other routine administrative tasks.

  • Compile and organize data for department meetings and reporting.


Other Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Associates degree preferred

  • 2 years of data entry or administrative experience in a plant environment, preferred.

  • PC skills including experience with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and Word) 

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work involves exposure to various temperatures and equipment to include coolers, freezers, and ovens.
