Behind the Scenes, Our Community Brownie Donation
Trusted Partners, Quick Production, and a Show of Support
While our recent brownie donation was no small feat, it’s just a small token of our appreciation for the local nurses, doctors, and staff who are working tirelessly to provide medical care for those in need. As we look back at that day, we wanted to give you an inside look at the partners, production process, and how together we can accomplish great things.
A Partnership built on Eggs, Batter, and Baking
When in need, where else would you turn than the community you call home? Donating more than 6,000 pans of brownies required teamwork, coordination, and focus. And while we had the equipment to pack and deliver the brownies, the dry and wet mix ingredients necessary to complete the bake were needed. Local vendor and partner Pennant Ingredients generously donated custom mixed, clean label brownie mix to the effort. And local partner Frontier Food Brokers provided eggs, and oil to complete the bake.
The Power of Working Together
After hearing about our generosity and initiative, another partner wanted to join us in giving back to the community and thanking those working hard everyday to keep us safe. Chabaso Bakery, located in New Haven, Connecticut, generously donated 7,000 loaves of Whole Wheat Ciabatta Bread to our community in partnership with Champlain Valley Milling. Chabaso Bakery is a family-owned bakery located in New Haven, Connecticut, specializing in ciabattas and other better-for-you artisan breads.
Managing Logistics, The Boxes, The Drop-Off
On the morning of Thursday, May 14, all four companies teamed up outside of the bakery on Mt. Read Boulevard to pack up the box trucks and our van with endless pallets of brownies and boxes of loaves of bread. Together we delivered over 13,000 baked goods to doctors, nurses, lab techs, aids, and frontline workers at three area hospitals
We want to extend our gratitude to all of our partners in this venture, as well as the community members that came together and helped make this donation possible. To learn more about our wholesale bakery and mission, click here!
